15 Pool Playing Tips

In the world of billiard gaming, the chances of winning can be accounted for as one versus the numerous possible drills. That's why it is important to know some tips to help you get through the game.

Tip #1

Know the basic yet vital rules that make the game work. Give yourself time to browse through each page of the book and familiarize yourself with it.

Tip #2

Before starting, observe the whole scenario. Look at your opponent. This will develop in you a sense of confidence and take away any fear.

Tip #3

Look. Walk around and figure out your next strategy. You have to see your next shot from every angle to be able to produce a perfect hit and keep your cue ball safe.

Tip #4

Keep it cool. Never let your bad temper get in the way of your concentration. If it doesn't work out this time, make it good the next time. Think as positive as you can.

Tip #5

Have a connection with your cue and your cue ball. It must all equate to a right strike. Always keep your head at a leveled position. Use your dominant eye to catch a glimpse of your true shot.

Tip #6

Ease the tension from your shoulders to your shooting hand. Relax. Take deep breaths.

Tip #7

Have your bridge hand secured. Every time you make a shot, press your fingers lightly on the cloth. This will provide assurance that your bridge hand will not move and will maintain its stability.

Tip #8

Keep your strikes, especially the backswing as smooth and slow as possible.

Tip #9

Commit yourself to every shot, either bad or good. No matter how the shot may turn out, you have to be firm. If you have decided to make that move, don't change your mind for confusion will lead to a miss.

Tip #10

Be consistent with your strikes. Develop a ritual. Note the things you should or should not include or avoid.

Tip #11

Don't quit that easily. Finish it. Either resulting in bad or good, finish the game. You may not know it but luck might just be on your side.

Tip #12

Analyze the mistakes that you made. Think of the misses and miscues. Why did that perfect shot go wrong? After which, correct the mistake on your next shot or round.

Tip # 13

Perform a satisfactory break. Be in control of the entire game.

Tip #14

Recognize your object balls to avoid fouls.

Tip #15

PRACTICE.
