The Characteristics of a Good Pool Player

One of the leading reasons why fans adore their teams is because of how every player portrays his part as a person and not just a big shot. Attitude speaks for itself. Every man and woman should get a hold of that.

Some of the famous people in the sports industry fall down because of their attitude. Getting involved in drugs, drunk driving, cheating, and all those shameful characteristics are the main reasons why they see their career go down the drain. You probably know some of them, being in rehab and all. It's not nice to see your favorite personality spend his time in jail or a center and wait for how many years to return. Definitely, tables will turn and crumble.

There are several qualities or characteristics a player MUST have to be loved by people who put them on top.

1. Humble - being humble doesn't harm anyone, not even your ego. A humble person is someone who doesn't brag about winning even though he never failed in any competition. He should be down to earth and must not compromise the people who care for his ups and downs.

2. Kind - now that's kindergarten. Being kind should be instilled in you by your parents ever since you're a kid. Because if not, nobody's going to teach you how but yourself. You have to be giving. Think about everyone else. Think about your opponents welfare and not just yourself.

3. Honest - another kindergarten trait. It's better to fail a game than cheat on your opponent. If you cheat and win, its not your opponent who lost but you. Upon thinking about it, you just lost your dignity as a person. No one will trust how honest your play is.

4. Smart - pool is like a game of chess. Not only can the smart people play but also the witty ones. Pool is a matter of outsmarting your opponent without harming anyone. You have to have tricks and techniques on how to control the whole game for your advantage.

5. Patient - a the saying goes, patience is a virtue. If you practice it, it will contribute in the future. So what if you're not having a good day? You never had your chance on the billiard table. Your opponent never gave you the chance to prove yourself. It doesn't matter. You can have your chance. Even if its that one chance that could make or break it.
